We made a last minute choice to stay at The Roadway Inn. Our original plan was to spend a few hours exploring Carlsbad Caverns and be back on the road. When my wife got sick, a second day was added. I'm not happy my wife is ill but I'm thrilled that we are here! The room is located just outside the entrance to the park, a short 15 minute drive and we are at the visitors center. It's roomy, clean, and comfortable, has a new TV, AC runs well and for Carlsbad is a pretty good value! Across the street is a neat gift shop and museum. The restaurant is rustic, has good food and has reasonable prices. There is a small water park here as well that is open in the summer. My daughter was sad to find out that the pool is closed for the season. She wants to spend a few more days taking different tours in the caves at a later date. I get the feeling this is not the last night I will spend here. This spot has exceeded all my expectations!\r
