Review content:
My girlfriend recently purchased a vehicle here for here daughter and after we compared the vehicles price ($5400) to its worth on KBB ($5500) we decided to purchase here. We found several small issues with the car and decided to have the dealership fix them. After her daughter signed all required paperwork and left the dealership the gas light came on. I spoke to a used car manager the next day and he stated the salesperson obviously overlooked putting gas in her vehicle. What he stated relating to used cars leaving the lot was strange, they will only put $10 or $15 in they will not fill the tank. Not a very customer friendly operating procedure considering people drop thousands on a used vehicle. A small gesture like filling the gas tank of a used car goes a long way.
RESPONSE FROM Van Horn Hyundai:
Sorry for the bad taste of us not including a full tank of gas with your recent purchase. Everyone has life experiences that don’t fall into place with what we value most and they create these unpleasant experiences. However how we react to them is what defines us. New cars at our dealership do get a full tank of gas at time of delivery. This is a requirement from the manufactures and we strongly adhere to the guidelines. Used cars do create some small issues because there is no reimbursement program associate with the sale and dealerships need to control as many costs as possible. The half of a tank rule is something that we feel is a good gesture and we hope to be able to continue that program going forward. I would however be willing to offer you a $10 coupon good towards your next service visit with my dealership. Simply bring in this note and I will approve it. I hope you enjoy your new car and we look forward to having another opportunity sometime in the future.
