Review content:
I visited this spa in May 2008 and booked a facial for me and a couples massage for my husband and myself. I'm a very regular spa goer (usually at least monthly) and have experienced the highs and lows in various spas in a few different states. In this case the facial was so awesome; my skin felt nourished and balanced and was baby soft. I have a fabulous aesthetician back home in FL and I don't normally let anyone else touch my skin, but this facial was right up there with hers and I would recommend it to anyone. I also liked all of the products used throughout my spa visit and appreciated the freedom to choose which aromas would be incorporated in my services; I even purchased a couple items at the end of the day. My husband really enjoyed his massage, however, that is where my glowing review ends. \r
My massage turned out to be disastrous. I don't mind feeling muscle soreness (like after a good workout-that is kind of the point afterall) but this guy wrecked my back. By the same night my husband pointed out that my lower back was covered with horrible bruises and that finally explained why it was painful when anything touched it. It looked like someone had kidney punched me several times and it made my 5.5 hour ride home and subsequent days of healing pretty miserable. It is a shame b/c my therapist seemed like a really nice guy with a great personality and I enjoyed our chat during the treatment, but I'll definitely request to have someone else if I ever build up the courage to get a massage there again-Yikes!
Pros: You almost don't want to wash the products off your skin you smell so great afterward!
Cons: It's a roll of the dice whether your massage is relaxing or excruciatingly painful.
