Review content:
I just finished this course as of 7-15-15 and my final thoughts are that I am extremely sad that it's over so soon! In six weeks I not only learned the valuable skill of blood drawing but I was finally able to get back into the health care field doing something I really enjoy doing, which is helping people and providing such a skilled service. Debbie Reasoner has a true gift for teaching and I was thoroughly impressed by her caring nature and patience. The fact that she spends one-on-one time with each pair of students per blood draws made even the most needle-phobic (MYSELF!) people comfortable and even wanting more draw time is commendable. She made a big impact upon myself and everyone from the June-July of 2015 class with her integrity, encouragement, passions for teaching as well as for the art of phlebotomy, and most importantly, her ability to smile and laugh even when things weren't going so well for her personally which never influenced her teaching obligations to our class. It was a little unnerving reading reviews about this class before checking it out as there are some pretty nasty ones out there so I made sure to check out the classroom as well as ask Debbie about why certain reviews were that way in the interview. Yes, in nine+ years of teaching receiving less than 10 negative reviews is OK though I made it a point after the class was done to give Debbie's class a very positive review as to shine some light on how awesome this class is. It is true, some people out there will always find negative things to talk about though Debbie continually challenged these negative reviews with her integrity to always do a good job, positivism, thorough phlebotomy knowledge and being a kick-ass teacher and person all around. It was awesome knowing that she is on the advisory board for phlebotomy education as well as a go-to gal if there is ever a legal case with phlebotomists so we all felt she is and was extremely qualified to teach us, and teach us she did :)
