I purchased the Abacus Home Membership program for my AC/Heating. They arrived on 5/27/15 and after inspecting my AC units, they said that I needed a new complete 3 Ton unit, coil and furnace. I was shocked, as my home is only seven years old this spring. After Tech James told me that my upstairs unit was shot, he quoted me a replacement cost of $12,768.00. After questioning the high price, he immediately lowered the price to $12,000.00 flat. Feeling that Abacus sent me a crooked Tech, I told him no thanks and escorted him to the door. I still have the written quote from Abacus. So, I looked on Angie's List and called another AC Company who came out the next morning. I did not mention anything about the Abacus sham. After about a two hour complete inspection, the American Comfort Tech said that I had a leaking coil and should probably upgrade my outside condenser. I asked about the furnace and he said that it looks very good and will last at least 10 more years. American Comfort quoted me a replacement cost of only $5,200 and did to try to sell me a larger unit for three times the cost! American Comfort Experts - the honest choice...
