A few weekends ago we discovered some water in our basement, and after a few calls to the insurance guys, we called Roto-Rooter (it was the commercial, its catchy). They promised to have a guy out in 1 hour to give us a free estimate, and he was there in about 45 minutes. We couldn't duplicate the flooding (which is probably good), but gave us his opinion on what the cause was. He snaked the drains and gave us some drain cleaner to use. He was helpful the whole time, and explained what was going on, what the pipes might look like (who knows, really!), and explained what the debris in the water was, and even what to look for if it happened again. This was all done at a very reasonable price (especially for a Sunday evening), and done very quickly (I only missed the 1st Quarter of the Steelers game that day!). Between the friendly person on the phone, and the knowledgeable tech who came out, I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter if something bad happens to your pipes!
