Around 9:30 pm on New Year eve we discovered that we had no heat.
Since Bell Plumbing had installed our funance a few years ago, we called them. We were advised that there would be a $75 charge for an after hours service call. However, we did not realize the technician could charge whatever he wanted to. The problem was the fuse and the technician could not have been at our home more than 15 minutes which included writing up the bill. His charge in addition to the service charge was $165 for a total of $240. When we called Bell the next work day we were told that the technican could charge whatever. Being on a fixed income, we will check other companies before calling Bell next time.
