We signed an agreement with Midwest Moving & Storage, Inc. in January 2012 for a move of our company in May 2012 from Burr Ridge, Illinois to Fort Worth, Texas. The contract amount that we signed with Midwest was for $196,756 and the contract stated that they could only charge for ""actual charges"" invoiced by Midwest. \r

Four months after the move, and after having paid the moving company , they sent us an additional invoice claiming we owed them an additional $135,735.68. Since the moving company did not present us with any detail of the additional charges and we had not been informed during the course of the move of the additional charges, we refused to pay the additional outrageous amount. \r

Midwest brought a lawsuit against us in Illinois for the $135,735. During the course of the lawsuit we came to learn that instead of billing for ""actual charges"", the moving company had inflated their invoices to us by increasing the amounts charged to them by certain third parties they retained to perform certain of the moving related services by anywhere from 30% to amounts greatly in excess thereof. The contract did not state that the moving company was permitted to increase the third party invoices, yet they did it anyway. In our opinion, they also increased the time of their employees work as compared to their own records and work tickets. Rather than throw more money away for a very expensive trial, we were forced by the economics of the situation to settle with the moving company.\r

Our experience with Midwest Moving & Storage was horrible and we strongly recommend against using this company.
