Review content:
We initially chose to go with Arizona Painting Company because they had no problems listed with the Registrar of Contractors, an A+ rating with the BBB and a high rating with Angie's List. Doug Caris came out from Arizona Painting and took measurements and was immediately able to provide us with a detailed estimate for painting the outside of our house and short wall surrounding our fountain in front. The crew that came out prepped the house the first day and were able to begin painting and the job was done in just a few days. Overall the job was good. I only have a couple of complaints and the first is with the paint job on the short wall surrounding the fountain in our front yard. There were cracks in the wall and on the cap block topping this wall that I had patched in preparation for them to paint. This was known ahead of time and didn't raise any concerns at the time. When the crew was done painting, the areas that were patched shown through like contrasting stripes, even after the paint crew said they had sprayed it twice. It appeared as through the paint had been watered down and wasn't covering very well. The crew said that that was the best they could do and packed up and left. I was disappointed that that was the best they could do without offering any alternatives. The wall and capstone have a sand type finish and the patch work was contrasting with that. I did a little research about paint and sand type finishes found a sand type product that mixes with any paint that DIY stores like Home Depot and Lowes carries. I went to Home Depot and purchased this sand type additive for paint and painted the wall with extra paint that was left. I was able to match the existing sand finish on the wall and capstone and hide the patch work. I am not a painter and even though this was just a few hours work, I am still disappointed that the crew didn't come up with the same solution or something else that would have worked. The last thing is not a big deal, but the paint crew left a small, banged up step ladder in the front yard, which we picked up and called Arizona Painting to let them know. They said that someone would be giving us a call before they stopped by to pick it up. It has been 30 days and no one has called stopped by so I will call again.
