Review content:
A technician from Applewood came to my house to inspect my furnace, as I was trying to find out why my carbon monoxide alarm had gone off a few times randomly. After inspection, the technician turned off my furnace, told me my heat exchanger was cracked-and I needed a new furnace. He gave me a quote of ~$8,000., told me they could install the new unit tomorrow, and that I was clearly risking the death of my family and self unless I acted immediately. He also told me repeatedly that he is paid hourly, so there is no incentive for him either way. I called around and company after company explained to me that Applewood is famous for this type of scare tactic up-selling. They also were able to check the warranty on my unit with me on the phone. It turned out that I was under warranty, and the heat exchanger was replaced by a licensed technician for under $700 in labor. These guys are slick --- but definitely not honest!!!!!!!!
By the way, the Applewood technician slapped me with a $125. bill for his great advice!!! Don't bother with these crooks, find someone else!!!!
Pros: Technicians are knowledgable
Cons: They will try to scare you into unnecessary purchases
