My daughter was on Wake's competitive team. Parents and gymnasts were not treated with respect there. The female owner dismissed and told parents that questions are not tolerated. She was quite rude to my child who loves gymnastics and worked very hard to please the coaches. Nothing she could do was right and in turn she decided to quit gymnastics at Wake. They wore her down emotionally or ignored her depending on how the female owner was feeling that day. I have heard things like are you stupid, that was horrible, are you retarted, you're not special, you need a psychiatrist being said to her gymnasts and daughters. The fact that the gymnasts are not spotted very much at all is a huge concern. The recreational coaches are young and very inexperienced.
