Review content:
I hired Aardvark Moving to move from one apartment to another in the same city. I had done a lot of the work myself and just needed help with my big stuff (my bed, dressers, couch, etc.). The three movers sent to help showed up late, and were extrememly unprepared. I had told the lady on the phone when I scheduled my move that I have a bed with built in drawers at the bottom and that disassembly/assmebly was needed. The men who showed up to my apartment had no tools with them because, according to them, I didn't tell them that anything was going to need to be taken apart or put back together. I asked to see the information they were given regarding my move, and saw for myself that it in fact did say that disassembly/assmebly was needed. Not only did I not get an apology from any of them, they expected me to make a trip to the store to buy them a powered screw driver. Things were behind schedule already since they showed up late, and this added on another hour & a half to the move. When we finally got everything loaded up & brought to my new apartment I thought it was all downhill from there. WRONG!!! I saw these movers piling things like my dresser drawers on top of my other wooden furniture and pushing it down the walkway & hallway instead of picking them up & carrying them like a responsible person would. All of my drawers now have dings in them, my coffee table & end table have very large and extremely noticable chips & scratches all over them, my mattress was cut up and several other items were damaged. As if this wasn't enough they didn't even put my bed back together, they just laid the pieces down so it looked like it was reassembled, but I had to do all the work myself. I was beyond frustrated and upset. And to top things off, they made the comment on many many occasions that tips were accepted, and almost made it seem like I had to tip them. When I received my bill the amount they charged me was significantly more than they had quoted me at, even though the number of items the actually moved for me was lower than what I had originally said it wuld be. When I asked about this I was told that the amount on the bill was correct, that I had to pay it, and there was no discussing the issue. I contacted the company several times after my move to discuss my experience, but I never got a response from anyone (via e-mail or phone). This was by far the worst move I have ever made (and I've moved a lot!). I wouldn't recommend Aardvark Moving to my worst enemy. Take my advice and STAY AWAY!!!
