To socutecarmie It is not unusual for a cat or dog to not be given pain meds to go home with after neutering. Most places will tell you how much liquid Benadryl to give them according to their weight.....if something is needed. I've found pain meds are rarely given for neutering. To Crystal D. You're telling us you went there for 18 yrs before you decided it wasn't the place to go? Wow! You're trusting them 18 yrs speaks louder to me than the one situation where you were unsatisfied. I've been there a couple of times and had no complaints so far. But I don't 100% trust anyone with my pets. After they are diagnosed, I will go home and do a search to see if the treatment they are giving is the typical or right treatment among most doctors. (I guess that's my way of getting a 2nd opinion.lol)But I do feel safe in saying they have to love animals and people. Otherwise, why would they offer their services at such a low reasonable price? They know some people can't afford huge office visit charges and they care enough to make it possible for those people to get the animal care they need. They could charge higher prices and put that money on a big elaborate building and/or in their pocket. I'm thankful they are there for us who can't afford to pay much. I am very picky about my dogs and cats. If anything was wrong, I wouldn't take them there regardless of how low the price! But I would take mine back to the Highway 58 Animal Hospital.
