Doug's Tree Service came out for an estimate to have a tree removed that is hanging over our garage on April 27, 2014. We accepted the estimate both by phone (to Sue) and by returning the office copy on April 29. We were promised that the tree, which is hanging over our garage, would be removed in "3 - 4 weeks" We waited four weeks. No one came. We waited five. No one came. We finally called. Our calls were not returned. We emailed. Our emails were not returned, In one instance we got an automated email in return saying that Doug's was no longer accepting emails! Two months after we received our estimate and after many phone calls and emails, we got a return phone call from Doug's Tree Service promising that they would get this taken care of right away but again, no one came. When I called on July 7, 2014, I was told that they were explosively busy and would get put this in front of the foreman right away. But I've heard that before.
You know, it's not even the delay that's frustrating -- although we don't want to tree to fall on our building while we're waiting for Doug's Tree Service to fulfill their promise -- it's the fact we can't seem to get a straight answer out of anyone there.
If you are a homeowner looking for someone to take down a tree and you'd like to have it done within a month or so, you might be disappointed with Doug's Tree Service and want to check with someone else.
