I am currently a student here at Georgia Career Institute at the Murfreesboro location. When I first decided to go to cosmetology school, I still wasn't really quite sure if that is what I wanted to do for my career. On my first day, I figured we'd be doing book work or listening to lectures like in a typical college class. Instead, we were practicing relaxers, roller sets, etc. and that was just on the first day! The instructors here are incredible. Not only do they help you with anything and everything you may need to know related to the field, they are also there to help on a personal level when things get tough and you just need someone to talk to. We just recently moved to a new facility that is even more beautiful and professional-looking than any salon I've ever been in. We as students also get to help each other out, whether it's helping foil a clients hair or just teaching different techniques. I feel like I personally learn better that way. Once you're about to graduate, the instructors and admissions directors are more than willing to help with finding jobs once you have your license. I couldn't have imagined coming to a better school for cosmetology than Georgia Career Institute. Now that I only have a few short school days left before I graduate and am out in the big girl world, I realize how much I am going to miss the lifelong friends I have made here and the instructors and other staff members who have helped make my dream of becoming a cosmetologist come true.
