Dr. Wilken removed 6 moles from my back, arm, & leg in the fall of 2009. My first appt to have the moles checked was over in less than 5 min- he pointed and d told his nurse which he was taking and was out the door.\r The next appt he took the 3 moles from my back and my boyfriend went along. My boyfriend asked lots of questions and was interested to know what the process was and what determined which moles he chose, but Dr Wilken did not seem too interested in answering. he also did not mention the extreme pain I would be in once the numbness wore off and offer any advice or prescription to help with it. \r They made me wait two weeks to come back to have the 2 moles off my arm and one off my leg, so the stitches in my back stayed in two weeks. When I mentioned how badly I was in pain before he simple handed me a prescription for percoset without much comment.\r After he removed the second set of moles, those stitches also stayed in two weeks. An entire month of stiffness and stitches was very confining, and the scars I have from it are very ugly. It's been over 18 months and I can still see every hole from the stitches and every line where the stitches crossed the scar. They also, all 6 of them, still itch horribly and ache/give me sharp stabs of pain on a regular basis.\r I've had three other moles removed prior to this: two others on my back and one under my arm done by GPs. None of these have ever caused me a single problem and the scars aren't nearly as severe. Im already planning to have a plastic surgeon fix the six Dr. Wilken did, and hopefully that will help the appearance, itching, and pain.\r \r I did find Dr. Wilken's nurse extremely friendly and helpful, and the office staff was great. When I realized my insurance ran out just before my final appt (i was livid because my appts were supposed to be done by then, but Dr. Wilken had double booked and cancelled mine), the staff was very understanding and helpful in my payment.
