Review content:
I've been playing golf for 51 years. I always bought my new clubs off the rack. I received a gift certificate for a free fitting at Club Champion from my goddaughter who's the women's golf coach at Southern Illinois. She told me that if I had properly fitted clubs that my handicap could go down a good 3-4 strokes. Frankly I didn't believe her since I've played as a 10 or so for my entire adult life.
Well, the free fitting got me to go. I had nothing to lose. The experience was unlike anything I expected. The fellow I worked with, Ray Johnson, was friendly and very knowledgeable. They had all the latest hi-tech gadgets - like you see on the Golf Channel. There was no rushing. I was there for nearly 3 hours. And the system they used to find me the optimum set of irons, really made sense. There was no mumbo-jumbo. And they didn't try to sell me something THEY thought I should buy. Everything was up to ME. But here's the good part - it was easy to determine which clubs and shafts to buy because the proof was right in front of me. I started hitting a 6-iron an average of 12 yards farther, higher, and straighter. And this was compared to the 5 BEST swings I took with my own 6-iron.
In the 15 months that I've used my new Mizuno's, my CDGA index has gone from 8.6 to 4.4. My playing partners can't believe it either.
I'm just a regular player - 62 years old. If you would have told me that I'd be a 5-handicapper I'd have laughed at you. But the proof is in the pudding. Club Champion is tops with me and I can't recommend them more highly. Forget the PGA Superstore guys who will fit you for nothing - all those equipment reps make a commission on selling you THEIR clubs. Club Champion will fit you with clubs that work best for YOU.
