Review content:
went thru 1st cycle at tx fertlity center. the cycle was exremely stressful and poorly managed. No one was helpful to answer any of my questions. Everytime i asked a question to my IVF nurse, she looked at me like i should already know the answer. i fell through the cracks so to speak. All of this making an already stressful situation, more stressul. There was an accounting mistake done for one of my tests that BTW, i ended paying full price for instead of receiving the discount through txfertility (it was almost 2.5 x's the discounted price!) And be ready to end up paying more than what they breakdown for you. Also, my credit card was charged on the tail end (about 3-4 weeks after my transfer was done) of all this without my approving the charge OR even knowing about it (almost 1000$)! I figured out on my own what the charge was for, but never expected to be charged without prior approval (this was actually done by AustinIVF who work in conjunction with texas fertility).I think there is usually paperwork filled out for the Austin IVF side, but i never filled anything out and only paid for all of my procedures through texas fertility checkout. Like i said, i fell through the cracks somehow. My doctor was very kind and helpful. The afer-hours nurse was always quick in answering my pages (within 5-10 minutes) and was very helpful. i know they are in a busy practice, but since its basically a cash business ($13,000-$19,000 per cycle) (not many insurances cover IVF, especially in texas), they should really pay more attention to ALL first timers- its something that is unknown, frightening, and exhausing if you have never been thru it. I expected more from them, but as other reviews have noted they are the only 'certified' game in town. I think the journey towards having a baby shouldn't mean that you lose that 'warm and fuzzy' feeling. Pros: board certified, kind doctor Cons: parking, apethetic staff, not very helpful
