Review content:
If you are in downtown Nashville and looking for a fun/laidback place to go, DO NOT go to Bailey’s Pub and Grill. I have been to this particular place a handful of times. I have enjoyed their food in the past. I have had a problem with their service in one instance but the manager at the time did come and correct the situation. I worked in the restaurant business in the past so I do feel I can accurately critique an establishment’s service to some extent. \r
\r
Unfortunately, last night was the last time we will ever go to a Bailey’s establishment. There was a group of 3 of my friends and myself that wanted to get a meal and drink after the Predator’s game (we purposely left the game early to go get a table before it got too busy). My friends were from out of town and I wanted to take them to a place that I had once liked.\r
The security guards outside were very nice and welcoming when we walked in. When we entered the seating area we were unsure if we should seat ourselves. There were multiple employees that walked by us without asking if we needed assistance. Finally, I asked a passing waitress about the seating she gave me a lot of “attitude” and said to sit wherever. (I understand that serving can be stressful but the extent to her callousness was extreme). A second later I saw the manager and I mentioned that I was not too impressed by the greeting of the waitresses. He then kind of apologized but did nothing to try to keep us there; so we then left. The security guard asked why we were leaving and we explained what had happened, he told us to go to the upper level where there would be more seats (so we decided to give it another try). A waitress brought us menus and said she would check back in a few minutes to check on us. We were talking to the table next to us and enjoying ourselves. A few minutes later, the manger came up to our table and asked if we had been drinking, when we told him we had a couple drinks at the game; he then told us that he would not serve two of the four people at our table. In our defense, there were no altercations or incidences that would have supported his decision. There was no reason for him to come to our table and question our sobriety. So we got up and left. I spoke to the security guards as we left and he was very surprised because none of us seemed overly intoxicated. \r
\r
In short, we were all responsible adults that wanted to have a late night dinner and a couple drinks while downtown. Bailey’s Pub and Grill was extremely disappointing in every aspect except for their security guards whom were extremely welcoming. \r
\r
I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a good time while in downtown Nashville. \r
