Review content:
I had an older Stihl 031 chain saw that was not running correctly. I took it to them to diagnose and was informed it would be a week. About a week and a half later I still hadn't heard anything. I called and was informed the tech would look at it the next day. I was informed the next day the points were out and they couldn't do anything for it. I had decided the MS 291 would be the desired replacement saw if needed. When at Voss Brothers I mentioned I was interested in MS 291 and they didn't have it in stock. They then began to kind of bad mouth that model and attempted to up sale me the MS 311. I was pretty set on the MS 291 and they said it could be ordered but would not waive the diagnostic fee for the old chainsaw unless I left it with them. I decided the saw was worth more than $35 in parts alone so I decided to look else where. I visited another Stihl dealer and was informed for a $20 part (electronic chip) my saw could be repaired. I bought the part and replaced it myself in about 30 minutes. In short Voss Brothers charged me $35 to do nothing for my saw and attempt to sell me a $500 chainsaw when the replacement part was $20 and took an inexperienced person 30 minutes to fix.
