Jim Germann, who co-owns the business (Hollis and Germann) is one of the best wood wind/ saxophone technician and he is recognized nationally by professional musicians for his repair work. I took my beloved vintage Selmer Mark VI alto for him to go over, and it took him literally less than 15 mins to make it sing again after few key adjustments! \r He is now working on my vintage King Super 20 tenor. He is also a dealer for P. Mauriat saxophones and several other brands. I picked up a brand new P. Mauriat System 76 second edition straight soprano and Jim made sure it was perfectly set-up, and get the perfect Yani 5 mouthpiece and reed combination. I never played it before, but now I can play the soprano better than the alto and tenor! \r Josh and Dave also work at the shop and they are great people. Don Hollis who is a professional oboe player and also works there and co- owns the place.\r Pittsburgh is fortunate to have a great friendly store with expert sales and repair technicians of their caliber. Now, I no longer need to travel far or buy from the Internet stores as the prices at H&G are much better and you actually get a better deal, considering the fact you get expert one-on-one advice, a great set-up work on the instrument before you pick it up, and could be rest assured you can have excellent service if you need it. They have a good selection of brand new and particularly vintage sax like Selmer Mark VI, King, Martin, Yanagisawa, and several student and professional Yamahas. \r I could not be any happier dealing with this top notch business, and I give it my highest rating and would recommend you to give them a visit.
