I have had quite a few interactions with David and Rick from Heirloom Oriental Rug Cleaning. My initial experience was with a very large, antique oriental rug that I bought. The rug had been in a farmhouse for 80 years and had never been cleaned. So it was a beautiful antique rug filled with dirt. They took it and cleaned it thoroughly.
Now it's in the living room of my lake cottage and it's absolutely wonderful. That first experience was very challenging. The rug is so heavy that three or four people could barely pick it up. But they were able to take it to their warehouse and clean it effectively.
I've probably had over a 100 rugs cleaned by Heirloom. I've had lots and lots of antique rugs cleaned. I live two hours away and Rick will meet me halfway to pick up a rug or drop one off. As a rug collector, any time I ever need a rug cleaned, I will take it to them. They are very sensible and knowledgeable about antique rugs.
Their per square foot cleaning fee is very competitive as well. In fact, it's competitive with any other cleaning service I've ever known about. So not only do they do a better job than anyone else, they are also cost effective. You can't combine those two things any better.
