Review content:
Hometown has serviced the boiler in our house for the past 6 years. We purchased the house in November 2012. Before purchasing, the boiler sounded odd and we asked the previous owners to have it fixed. They called the company and Hometown serviced it and said it was fine and repaired a flue pipe based on a home inspection recommendation. It is now June and the flue pipe has come undone and was venting exhaust into our basement. We called a different company to look at it and they found that the motor hadn't been oiled in years, the combustion chamber had a hole in it, and the main chamber was heavily corroded. I tried to call Hometown and the person who answered the phone said that the inspector should have been more thorough, that it wasn't their fault, and then hung up on me. I am shocked by the horrendous way they ""serviced"" the boiler and the way I was treated on the phone. They may have only had a contract with the previous owners, but it is clear that they have done a terrible job and need to be reported. We have an 8 month old baby who could have been harmed by the exhaust fumes and now will be out $4000-$5000 for a new boiler because of their negligence. This is terrible.
