I enrolled my daughter for the preschool program. My husband and I attended the Parent Orientation and knew this was not the place for our little girl. We just did not get the feeling of a ""school."" You have the feeling that you are sending your child to a for profit business and not a place conducive to learning. I asked about the specialty classes. My son is in a private elementary school and he has a specialized degree instructor for Music,Art and PE. The specialty classes here are music being played in the classroom by the same classroom teacher, art projects by the same classroom teacher, and gross motor skills by the same classroom teacher. I understand rules and regulations need to be explained at the parent orientation but the owner/director stating that if there wasn't a backpack in the child's cubby that it was because the parent did not pay. What a way to single those parent's out? Oh and the make sure you purchase the spirit shirts and grab as many magnets for your car as you can, was a nice marketing touch! We just wanted the feeling of comfort and that our little girl was going to be in good hands. I paid $185.00 registration fee+$12 over priced school bag +$30 supplies(that I never received)+ $405 for the May 2014 tuition. I understand that the registration fee is non refundable. The over priced bag, supplies not received, and tuition should be refunded when your child doesn't even set foot in the class. Again, I understand this is a for profit 'business"" and accreditation standards do not need to be adhered to since the school is not accredited. My husband and I woke up early the day after the Parent Orientation and toured an amazing school. So amazing that over 95% of their Kindergarten class tested at a 3rd grade level in Math and Reading on the Iowa national test! We were able to see the 2 year olds in their Spanish Lab! Unfortunately, we are out $622.00 but we have the confidence that our daughter is going into a school that is solely conducive to learning and socializing for our little girl!
