After an abnormal hearing test and the discovery of fluid in my son's ear (he had a cold) we were told by the Dr who did the evaluation we had to make an appointment with a different doctor to review the situation. My family has MD's in it so we asked if they thought that was necessary. We also did some research on medical web sites (Up To Date) and it turns out that the standard of care is to repeat the hearing test a few weeks after the kid's cold symptoms have ended. I do not trust ENT because they told us to spend money when the prudent thing was to wait and retest after the cold symptoms cleared. ENT appears to be set up to generate billing events, not practical patient care. Buyer Be Ware...
