Review content:
I'm surprised at the previous review. I've been with this practice for five years and have seen all 4 doctors for either routine or urgent visits. All 4 doctors, including Dr. Arkin were kind and caring. ( He does have wry sense of humor and perhaps one of his jokes went wrong????) I know they frown on prescribing antibiotics right away, since the American Academy of Pediatrics advises doctors to discourage antibiotics for illnesses that would heal on their own. That's harder for parents, I know. I've had to make a return visit once or twice, though often it has healed on its own. On the other hand, they have put the kids on medication right away when the illness needed immediate action. If cost or time away from work for a second visit was an issue you could probably work something out with them--they are really flexible and understanding. \r
The $10 is standard for copies of records unless you ask for the copy at the time of the visit. it's a flat fee for records and it's pretty standard in this area ( lots of offices charge $25). It's a pain, I know but if it were really an issue the doctor or office staff might waive it.\r
It did take me a little while to warm to this practice, because they are different than my prior pediatrician, who had been with us since the kids were born. But at this point, they've earned my trust, and I don't say that very often. They really do care about the kids, both their immediate needs and their long-term needs.
Pros: Four caring and attentive doctors who will work with you
Cons: Take a wait & see approach which can require follow-up
