I have been taking my pets to Shively for many years now. When I moved to the area a friend suggested them to me. She said that they were caring, inexpensive and well worth the drive and the 2-3 hr wait you can expect once there. They are approx 45 minutes from my home. Initially, I completely agreed with my friend. In fact, I also suggested them to many other friends. However, as of late, I find myself thinking much differently. I recently took 2 pets to see them. One was a kitten a friend had found on the side of the road and had thought dead. Another being my beloved dog. Long story short...the kitten got a shot of vit B and a worming and my dog got his regular shots, a heartworm test, and some blood work. (Due to having some light seizure activity.) I had taken almost $200 with me and prayed that it wouldn't be that much since my husband had just lost his job. Regardless, I couldn't ignore the care of my babies.
