Review content:
My husband and I went to H&R Block after preparing our taxes at home with our own TurboTax software. The results of our home effort were so astounding that I wanted it double-checked. If we had been thinking properly, we would have gone to the local IRS office for free. Instead we went to H&R Block. The girl who completed our taxes was really nice, but she was essentially filling out the same forms we had used at home-only H&R Block calls their version "Tax Cut". When we had questions, she had to go ask a supervisor. The supervisor seemed aggravated that she kept having to come over to our little cubical. At the end of the process, we were still so unsure of the results that we paid the $29 extra dollars for the assurance plan so that they will pay any extra taxes and penalties if they got it wrong. Next year I will definitely buy the software and save $150. PROS: The assurance policy for $29 CONS: Price and the supervisor's attitude when asked questions
