Review content:
Purchasing was smooth, delivery was smooth. Directions may be easy for the veteran installer to follow, but for two mechanically inclined individuals without experience in putting in a roll up door, I believe they could be written more clearly. Further, the notches that connect guides to door assembly hold poorly, and we found that some of the unusual bolts shipped with door needed to be replaced with standard lag bolts. One step in directions tells one to connect main assembly to guides on the ground and raise from horizontal to perpendicular--that is easier said than done, given the weight is sufficient to demand a forklift. In spite of all these problems, we got it up and it works fine. Before dismissing these weaknesses, if Apple Computer could write understandable directions for their products in 1986, with work you can today. RESPONSE FROM DOORS DIRECT: We are looking into the install instructions to see where it could be improved. We also have a detailed video on our site that shows a step by step installation of our roll up door. This only takes a few minutes to watch and combined with the written instructions it covers every aspect of the installation process.
