I would not recommend this for someone getting a perm. I haven't gotten a perm in 10 yrs. I spend the past 3 months buying different hair style magazines, until I found the one picture that looked like the type of body wave I wanted. I brought that picture with me and showed it to the stylist. Because I have long hair, after $300.00 later, what I got was a spiral perm not a body wave. When I asked her about the rods, she said that long hair people get those rods. She didn't tell me it was for spiral perm. I was very disappointed because I wanted a body wave. I end up going to top shots salon for a deep condition, and will have them re-perm my hair for a body wave. The person that helped me seemed new also, because it took her a very very long time to do this, and she had to keep asking advice from the other stylists..My hair is so curly and not wavy...I'm a college student with a mortage to pay..not happy about the $300.00 that this costed me for a type of perm I didn't request.
