Okay for anyone who is interested\r I have a 1948 Chevy Thriftmaster 5 window pickup. It is forest green with white lettering and a lot of chrome. Last summer I drove it around town for fun, but I left a cloud of smoke at very 4 way stop and a buddy commented it leaked oil like the national debt. So in October I decided it was time to rebuild the engine. I worked on it, and for a simple straight inline 6, nothing went right and everywhere I turned felt like a brick wall slapping me in the face. By mid February I was no closer to getting this done, really than I was last October. I was frustrated and ready to scrap the whole thing. I was just about ready to get a remanufactured engine from out of state, when a guy I know said to look at Austin Jordan. He said they were good, and the guy is no sugar coater.\r I called Jason. From that point on it was like I hit an 'easy' button. Everything the guys at AJ said they would do, they did. In fact they did much more than they said they would.\r Jason was great. Dennis was helpful. Don let me pester him and stop by like and expectant parent, and Mike, who they call Indian worked a couple of small miracles on my truck.\r The bottom line is, after 3 and a half months of spinning my wheels, Austin Jordan remanufactured an engine, put it in the truck, hooked everything up with my parts and parts from Northwestern auto, in two weeks! I literally drove the truck an hour home that second Saturday.\r They were not cheap, but they were not outrageous either. They were fair and they are genuine car guys and best of all they are right here in west Michigan. \r I drove the green truck to Grand Haven today, something I was afraid to do last year and it was great. I said in February I would never rebuild an old car again, but I think we all know that I probably will, next time I am going straight to Austin Jordan for all the engine work, first.\r If you have a project and need to call me, Jason, Dennis and Don have my phone number, you can call me anytime, these guys are the best.
