Review content:
Figs is celebrity chef Todd English's second Charlestown installation. Here they specialize in gourmet pizza and casual fare such as pasta dishes. Pizza here can be a bit pricey (about $20), but the gourmet toppings are well worth it. Excellent choices are the Portobello pie or the classic margherita. Unusual specials can include bar-b-qued pork and coleslaw topped pizza.
The pies are quite large (feeding three adults easily) and only come in one rectangular size. The crust on all pizza's is "New Haven" style thin crust which is just delicious.
The brick oven in the back of this restaurant warms the entire space making this restaurant an excellent winter choice. Take out is available as well and is good for nights you may not want to wait for a table in this small space. Servers and hostesses in the restaurant are very efficient and friendly making this one of Boston's best!
