Dr. Gayken got rid of pain and my partial dentures \r
\r
I can tell you the people working there take a lot of pride. After I expressed my gratitude to her assistant Her assistant asked me to right a detailed review. I can't say enough good things about you guys. I caught up on a lot of dental work over the last 4-5 months . They really tried to be the best they can be with each visit so I agreed to write this. Is is a story that needs to be told\r
\r
I can tell you Dr. Gayken got my teeth back to working good again. When I just wanted to come in to meet her, it didn't cost a lot (I have no dental insurance). Think I paid a little over $100 and I got a 3-d cone beam scan in about a minute, some more x-rays, a full complete thorough exam; every tooth, every root, measured my gum pockets very-very complete. . At the dental chair it was pretty cool to see the 3-d x-ray type image of my whole head on the big flat screen right where I sat. If you got some major dental issues in your mouth, your dentist needs to have a 3-d cone beam, unbelievable what can be seen. She found a crack (and showed me) in one tooth that never felt right after a root canal a few years back. That regular x-ray could not see that crack but the 3-d cone beam saw it no problem. She also found a few infections that festered for years. If you are a dentist reading this and don't have a 3-d cone beam, please go buy one for you office.\r
\r
Fast forwarding to the end of this story, I had some extractions. root canals, fillings, deep cleanings, lets just say a whole lot of work. She was able to plan 3 implants using a 'stint"" (like a template to guide implants) with the 3-d cone beam. She also has this crown making machine called cerec. The cerec took images of the shape of my teeth and then communicated with the cone beam to help perfect the implant location. It was very advanced to say the least. I don't know of any other dentist in The Woodlands that can do all what she can do.\r
\r
When it came time to install the crowns. (The episode with crowns is another story) she milled them, glazed them and baked them, then installed them in one single visit. She accomplished an incredible amount of work each time I came in. It's obvious she invest back in to technology and bends over backwards to make the experience as good as it possibly be which leads to my next paragraph\r
\r
Most visits, I elected to be sedated with pills and liquids and that my friends is not a bad way to spend 2 hours in a dental chair. That strong sedation medicine lingered for the rest of the day after I got home. When the numbing wore off, I could just sleep through it (an added bonus)\r
\r
Dr. Gayken really has a team of friendly people. Both the hygienist and assistants where also great, they would follow up and call me to make sure I was Ok with each visit. I also came in for quick post op type visits that where short, on time and didn't cost extra. It was not cheap but the estimated cost and the actual cost was very close. The prices she charged compared as average but the treatment she gave was far above average.
