Review content:
After having a horrific haircut about two blocks away, I made an appointment for the same day in despair. I was greeted by a smiley receptionist and soft lighting when I walked in. There was a five-minute wait, during which I was brought coffee and chose reading material from about 15 kinds of magazines.\r \r My stylist, Sarah, calmed me down immediately by reassuring me that we could and would work with what hair I had left to create something fresh and different, and most of all, purposeful, so no one would be able to tell my haircut had been a mistake. We spent a good 15 minutes doing the consultation, and she assessed both of the photos of the styles I had brought in. She then made her own recommendation, but in the end let me choose what we would go for. I felt very comfortable going in to have my hair washed-- I knew exactly what we were going to do.\r \r The shampoo in itself was divine-- a relaxing head massage topped off the lovely Bumble & Bumble products that the salon uses. \r \r Sarah then got straight to work, and I couldn't have been made to feel more confident and comforted. She worked carefully and attentively, but still struck up an engaging conversation with me. She told me about her own past hair disasters, and talked about ways in which I could style my new hair. She spent about 45 minutes cutting my hair all in all, and checked the length once it was dry, too. She recommended two kinds of product, but wasn't pushy, and even encouraged me to try other products and see what worked best for me.\r \r The finished product? Unbeatable. Sarah transformed a wedgey bowl cut into a flirty, Rihanna-style pixie/bob-- and I've found myself a new style that I never would've dreamed would look so good on me!\r \r This salon is pricey-- $80 per cut for master stylists-- but in my opinion, totally worth it. It's not very often that you find a place you trust completely-- and now that I've finally found that place, I will definitely be going back.
