As a ""nightlife veteran,"" on my feet till 5 in the AM, aches and pains are my best friends. Add to that not enough sleep, poor eating habits, etc. etc., and you got yourself some issues. So I've been going to the gym, playing basketball three times a week and working out, but my hip has been hurting as a result. I went to get an x-ray, and apparently, my L5 or whatever is a little lopsided, something they say is quite common--""everybody favors a side."" Whatever. It hurts, so I went to see this guy in Philly that my brother goes to. Dr. Paul Rubin. Before going, I heard every chiropractor rumor there was, the ""quack"" this, the ""addiction"" that. What made me go was this article which talks about medicine being the ""quick and easy"" way out of things, whereas actual body adjustments and straightening of your spinal cord where all the nerves run through is WAY better. Anyways, he had me turn this way and that, each time cracking my body up, and though at first I didn't feel my hip problem go away, the next few weeks I DID NOT experience that same hip pain, and it wasn't because all of a sudden I decided to stretch properly. The SCARIEST thing was when he cracked my back while I was laying on my stomach. He said it would clear the sinus issues I was having this Winter. I was like ""yeah, right,"" but when I turned over on my back after the adjustment, my nasal passages started clearing up!!!!!! I could feel the slowly opening, and it was weird. Not sure if I'm a believer just yet, but I'm definitely going back because I like being able to get up from my computer without wincing in pain, and I DEFINITELY like not having snort nasal spray twice a day. I couldn't smell my wife's banana bread anymore!!!! THANK YOU, DR. RUBIN!!!!! Pros: personality, consideration, care, attention, miraculous effects Cons: parking
