Review content:
We contracted with DTN for a $35K new construction geothermal project and had several issues; most resolved, some not.\r
\r
Most of the install crew was making a great effort to do a good job, the problems we had seemed to come from higher up.\r
\r
The groundloop was not installed in the agreed upon location and, without asking, Dan dug through an area of mature trees which we did not want disturbed. To make the situation completely unacceptable, DTN has been unwilling/unable to provide documentation as to the actual location of the groundloop. An excavator later 'found' a part of the groundloop and the DTN repair bill was over $1100 which was excessive considering there was minimal damage to the tubing and all excavation was provided by others.\r
\r
They were having some personnel problems resulting in different people on the job site and items specified during the pre-install walk through were not passed from one person to the next resulting in rework and project delays. e.g., despite being well documented a ceiling air return had to be moved a number of times since it was repeatedly installed in the way of upper cabinets.\r
\r
They invoiced the rough-in as 'complete' long before the rough-in was finished.\r
\r
The install included rigid forced air ducts in the attic and tape was falling off the duct insulation in many places even before the sheetrock was installed on the ceiling this required a callback to retape the insulation.\r
\r
We scheduled the finishout for a specific day and nobody showed up. No calls or emails, just didn't show.\r
\r
DTN submitted the final invoice but required another callback because the auxiliary heat was not connected and there was a large, red ""remove before use"" tag with specific instructions that had not been addressed. obviously a final system check had not been completed.
