Review content:
I've been going to Vert for nearly 8 years. I get an excellent, high-intensity full-body workout that's always challenging. The Vert system -- a series of push/pull exercises that are computer controlled -- is efficient, and can put you through different paces whether it's straight resistance or speed training or time sets. I've worked out alongside pro athletes who scoff at the machines; 10 minutes into their workout, they're in the corner gasping for breath. As well, I've worked out beside 16 year old soccer players training for their high school team, and beside 75 year old men who work out for muscle tone and flexibility. So the place caters to a range of athletes.\r \r The club is small and never crowded. Unlike the big corporate gyms, this is a place where the staff knows you. Vert personnel are concerned with member welfare, and with each member reaching their potential whether they're training for a competitive sport or just life. The place is a little out of the way because it's in the back of a small shopping mall, but there's ample parking. I recently lost more than 50 pounds using an online nutrition system (Vitabot) that Vert provided for me. Pros: Really interesting computer controlled equipment; excellent core training Cons: limited free weights; no showers
