(note: this is not in Seattle, but I can't post a Canadian listing and you can drive there from Seattle, so...) Sooke is on the West coast of Vancouver Island and it takes about 5 hours to get there from Seattle if you drive over the Canadian border then take a ferry to Victoria, then drive 25 miles to Sooke. It is so worth it though because this b&b is a gem. It isn't all frilly and lacey (and ultimately kind of cheesy) like most b&bs and the private hot tub on the balcony is just heaven. There are 3 rooms - 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. All rooms have a fireplace, heated floors, simple wood furniture made by the owner and a hot tub on the balcony. The downstairs room also has a steam room feature in the bathroom. The owners are very nice and unobtrusive, the breakfast is really great and can be served in your room. Sooke is sleepy and the further north you drive, the wilder it gets. There are plenty of places to take a hike or a walk on the beach and a couple good places to eat. I can't tell you what a perfect place this is to go and really relax. Play Scrabble on the ferry and bring your favorite music to listen to and the trip there and back is pretty fun.
