Review content:
Pupatella has finally put down roots in the Bluemont area of Arlington. For several years, they sold pizzas out of a vendors cart at Ballston Metro. Now, they are in a tiny strip mall on Wilson Boulevard near George Mason Drive. And, they are cranking out some really smokin' Italian goodies. Finally, south-of-the-river gets real Neapolitan pizza. Cooked by a Neapolitano and in a shiny red wood-fired oven imported from Napoli. Its what happens when you get an obviously artistic couple of owners who are passionate about food. This smallish restaurant is destined to become a neighborhood institution.I would drive 50 miles for it. Traditional pizzas score really high. The benchmark is the Margharita. Simple, elegant and classic. Theirs is stratospheric. Salads are balanced and its like eating art, they are so gorgeous. You don't have to travel to Napoli to get a foodie fix. try 5104 Wilson Blvd., and may Parking Karma be with you. You will thank me later.
