Review content:
As an independent 3d visual developer, I have to do nearly everything myself. It's tough! The art, the animation, video editing, sound effects... if it is digital media, you name it I do it. However, there is one thing that I absolutely cannot do by myself; the voice acting. I can do a little... but outside my vocal range I'm out of luck.
That said, I've worked with many different and talented voice actors but the demonstration of Debbie's abilities made it clear she is a cut above the rest. It doesn't matter what the topic is; she places her extensive wisdom, versatile vocals, and insight into what she does.
To be clear, while Debbie could be called a "voice actor", I really don't feel that title fully describes just what she brings to a project. She is also a consultant and an adviser. She doesn't just voice the role with skillful acting and high quality sound equipment, she understands the connection between what she is saying and how it is intended to be used. She **collaborates** with the developer or client to help take the guesswork out of the kind of delivery that a client wants... she also realizes that sometimes the client needs help determining just what kind of vocals are needed (determining a character's vocal personality in a show is a good example of this).
She was far more critical on her own work than I was, actually (isn't it usually the other way around?). I had published a preview version of a 3d short I created to show her how her work was being used and she was prompt to ask if I wanted any adjustments to her vocals to fine-tune them to the visuals even further. I was more than happy with her performance, so I was surprised but reassured that, yes, Debbie is on my team and really cares about the end product as much as I do.
If you need a voice actor who knows what they are doing, works efficiently, offers advise and assistance in a writing-to-audio process, or ANYTHING that involves the voice actor in any way shape or form, then Debbie Grattan is your go-to talent.
