Review content:
When my insurance changed a few years ago, I had to find a new OB/Gyn clinic. I decided on Oakdale based on the location, the services provided, and their website. I use the web for a lot of research and I liked that they actually utilized the web as a tool for their patients and keep it relatively updated. Their website is www.oakdaleobgyn.com.
I used to use a clinic in Edina and sometimes I would have to wait over an HOUR to see the doctor or even get weighed in. At Oakdale, the longest I have had to wait is maybe 15 minutes. Usually I get to go right back and get in a room right away. This is a big plus for me as I hate to use 2+ hours of sick time to attend my doctor appointments.
This clinic works as a group. If you are not pregnant and just coming for annual exams or whatnot, you could probably be sure to see the same doctor every time. When pregnant, they advise you to see as many doctors as you can because your baby will be delivered by whoever is on-call at the time---not a specific doctor of your choice. Some women do not like this aspect of group care but I don't mind it. I have met many of the providers already and feel fine with any of them delivering my baby (any day now!). They all seem caring, intelligent, and supportive. Two doctors from the clinic were recently voted "Top Doctors of 2005" by Mpls./St. Paul Magazine----Dr. Jon Nielsen and Dr. Lori Wilcox.
