Review content:
I ordered food from Amante's online week before last. I needed delivery because I was sick and couldn't cook. I ordered steamed clams with spicy sausage, mixed seafood penne, and scallop fettuccine. Apparently, the cooks don't know that clams that do not open when cooked are dead, because out of my 9 clams, only 1 was open when I opened the container. I thought woooo... I should let them know that my clam appetizer had dead clams. I called and was told to speak with a manager. A young woman came to the phone and after hearing my complaint, she told me I was wrong. That clams come frozen and they are all closed and that closed clams is normal. I stated, closed clams mean you shouldn't eat them because the clam was dead. She scoffed and said she didn't know who I'd been talking to, but the clams come frozen and it's normal for them to be closed. I said, but when you cook them, they should open up! She told me, she wouldn't argue with me about it, and offered to send another order of clams to me, but that they'd probably be the same. I asked for my money back. I never received my $12.99, and my feedback that I left on their facebook page was erased. My advice to anyone reading this... don't eat at this restaurant and I hope the Department of Health, the FDA, and inspectors take note that there are serious issues at this place. NOTE: The Issaquah location is at fault. I don't know about other area Amante places of business. Sidenote: I re-read their menu and discovered the cooks don't know their own recipes. The mixed seafood penne recipe as stated on their online menu, should have asparagus. My meal had loads of imitation crab, 4 shrimp and plenty of parm cheese, but no asparagus. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
