Review content:
The Silver Streak Inn is definately one of the best places in Mt. Vernon, Il. to go for the best steaks which include porterhouses, ribeyes, filets and my personal favorite prime rib. Also the menu has a variety of different types of food. You also can get wine, cocktails or beer with your meal or just come in and have a drink. It is a laid back smoke free setting with everyone from all walks of life (including a visit from the Illinois Gov. in the fall of 2005). If you are looking for good food (something for everyone) and good service with laid back atmosphere this is definately the place to go.

Cons: only 15 tables, may have to wait, non-smoking
