Here are my thoughts on Saint Paul Yellow Taxi. I have used this company several times over the past two months. The main time that I have asked for rides is when I was taking my cat(s) to the vet. I was never told that I needed to inform them that I was transporting a cat on any of these occasions. On February 1 I ordered a cab 1 hour and 30 minutes ahead of time, because I knew it was a snowy day and would take a while. When the phone was answered at first all I heard was someone yelling orders, and then a very rude greeting after I had been saying ""Hello? Hello? Hello?"". I then asked for a cab to pick me up at 11:15. Fast forward to 11:15.. I waited until 11:20 and then called the company because no cab had arrived. The phone rang for 3 minutes before someone picked up. I was informed that a cab would arrive in 3 minutes. When the cab arrived it was already 11:25, and I had to be at the appointment at 11:30. The cab driver did not even greet me, he only said that I should have informed the company that I was transporting an animal. I apologized and said I was not aware of that. I also told him that he was 10 minutes late. He said it wasn't his fault and the cab company had only called him 10 minutes ago (remember I requested a cab 1 hour and 30 minutes prior). He said it had nothing to do with him being late, and he didn't want to hear complaints and drove off. No apology. I then proceeded to call the cab company 3 different times, letting the phone ring for 3-4 minutes each time before someone answered. I then informed them that I had ordered a cab 1 hour and 30 minutes ago, that the cab arrived 10 minutes late, and refused to drive me because of the cat and because he didn't want to hear complaints. The cab company staff member did not apologize. All he said was: ""You should have told us you had a cat."" Again, I have ridden with this company several times with the cat, and this has never been an issue. Nevertheless, I apologized and said that I was sorry that I didn't tell about the cat, but was unaware that I needed to. I also reminded them that regardless, the cab showed up 10 minutes late, and I expected better customer service (e.g. being even mildly polite, apologies for poor service, etc.) The staff member just proceeded to argue with me, and gave excuses saying it was a busy day, and that some people were waiting an 1 hour and 30 minutes for a ride. I proceeded to remind him that I called 1 hour and 30 minutes ahead of time, so effectively, I waited 1 hour and 30 minutes as well. At no point in the conversation did he apologize, or take any responsibility for the poor service offered by the company. This is absolutely unacceptable. Just because you are having a busy day doesn't mean that gives you a license to treat your customers poorly. I will never use this company again, and I would strongly recommend that others avoid this company at all costs.
