Review content:
I'm going to give this location an average rating. The food is excellent, but they have a business practice that I think is a bit unfair--and what really amounts to a total rip-off.\r
\r
I've been there several times and have enjoyed the food, but I''ve never gone when they had entertainment. Well, if they have someone singing, everyone at your table is charged a 7.00 cover charge, no matter if you order food or not. We ordered food and drinks and our bill was over 90.00. 35.00 of that was paid as a cover charge. If you walk in and don't see the sign, no one will make mention of it until you get the bill. \r
\r
First of all, while the singing was great, it was VERY LOUD. You cannot carry on any type of conversation from 9PM until 12:30AM. So not only were we subjected to unwanted singing, we could not have any type of decent conversation and we had to pay 35.00 for it.\r
\r
I'm a New Orleans native and so I can tell you that their food is good. And in California, it's can be a challenge to find a nice Creole resturant if you aren't one to experiment with new locations. However, we spent money on food and drinks and I felt that having to pay an additional 35.00 was overkill. One of the girls I went with said she'd never come there again because of it.\r
\r
If I do go, I'd call and check to make sure there are no performances and cover charges (I'm sure that's only during the weekend) I think they need to be reminded that they are a restaurant, not a dance club or bar. If patrons purchase food and drinks, why in the h e double hockey sticks would you then force 7.00 charge per person at the table fee. It left a bad taste in my mouth...pardon the pun.\r
\r
I won't say I will never go back....but, I will say that I'm going to look into other places to take my friends and family for dinner.
Pros: Great authentic Creole and Cajun Food
Cons: 7.00 cover fee charged per person...whether your order food or not.
