Review content:
I can only confirm what the previous posters have lamented - this is New York, where we do business around the clock!! We all have packages, letters, documents to mail (still) and yet the Post office closes their accessibility and hours down in the MOST strategic (business) places. \r
For years I am paying for a p.o.box at Gr.Central Post office - why - because I it was perfect, I could retrieve packages or bulkier mail afte work until 9PM. \r
From one day to the next, without warning, without a sound, a letter in the mail, they closed the mail retrieval service to 6PM. Everyone who was lining up afterward (ignoring the fact and not reading the handwritten unprofessional little sign) was litteraly barked at by the oh so full of themselves postal clerks! Anger and frustration was and still is rampant!\r
Why this change ?? the emplyoees in that post office are payed and stay until 9PM anyhow - after 7PM they do mostly chatting and kidding around - so is it too much to ask, that one of the ""chatters"" serves the P.O.Box clients??? \r
And to top it all off - did we get a lower rate for a more miserable P.o.Box service - of course not !!!!!!. \r
What do I need that P.O.Box for anylonger?? I work until 7pm - I have no way to retrieve stuff that does not fit my box before 6pm ! It took me 10 days before I was able to get a package last week, because of these lametably stupid and unrealistic hours in an area that is surrounded by only offices and businesses!!!\r
Result: I am (reluctantly) using UPS and FEDEX now instead - but at least I get the stuff delivered in a timely fashion and actually safe time, since they deliver to my doorstep! Consequently I will cancel my P.O.Box! \r
Need anyone wonder WHY the USpostal service is laying off 100.000 people this year and UPS and FEDEX get richer by the day???\r
My suggestion: Move into the 21st century - clean out the dust, throw out the Mgmt, privatize the postal service and provide a service and area-adequate opening hours !! Be what our grandfathers bulit you to be - an efficient country-wide SERVICE to the postal clients! Amen\r
