Review content:
If you're looking for a boutique that puts the customer first then you may want to continue to shop around. I purchased my wedding dress at Bella. The manager Romona, whose husband owns the boutique, is knowledgeable about her gowns and has a good selection with varying price points. The dress I purchased is beautiful. The reason for the low score is what happened afterward. Before purchasing the dress I inquired about the cost of alterations Ramona told me at least $200. When I questioned the ""at least"" as being a floor and not a ceiling, I was told emphatically that it would be around $200 because my alterations were basic (cutting the train, hem, no bustle, taking in side seems). With that quote I purchased the dress. Two weeks later I met with Maria who pinned, cut and fitted. At the end of the fitting (and after I paid the remaining balance of the dress) Maria told me the alterations would be $450!! When I questioned Ramona she simply looked at Maria and asked her if there was anything she could do. Maria dropped her price to $400. Ramona was unwilling to stand by her initial quote saying the seamstresses are independent of the boutique. Shaken and panicked 6 weeks from my wedding, I called a friend of mine who used to work in a bridal boutique. She put me in touch with Anahit of Anahit Bridal Alterations in Newton who is fantastic!! After learning of my situation Anahit fit me into her crazy schedule and reminded me of what a special time in my life this is. She did an amazing job and the dress is gorgeous! AND she did it all for $290. She also insisted that she keep the dress as close to my wedding day as possible to ensure nothing can happen to it. On the other hand Ramona only holds your dress for up to two weeks after it's ready for pick up claiming something about insurance. So if you're looking for first rate customer service and someone who stands by their word, Bella is not the place.
Pros: Decent selection with varying price points
Cons: Alterations and Customer Service
