So my house, and consequently my carpet, is 5 years old. During that time I had my carpets steam cleaned once. I was satisfied with those results, but now that I've seen what carpet dry cleaning can do, there's no comparison.\r
First - the company is extremely well run. The carpet experts showed up on time with a smile on their faces. Carlo (great guy) showed me a pet stain that was a few weeks old. He peppered the spot with powder, ran over it with their brush machine, and VIOLA. The spot was gone. Not only that, the carpet was dry. I was excited to see what they could do the other spots: I have a 5 year old dog who was a puppy for 4 of those years. My cat is 12 and she often gets an upset tummy. 'nuff said.\r
Carlo was up front about what stains they could lift and which they couldn't. I had a red ink pen bitten in two (courtesy of our puppy). That type of stain wont budge. The other bio-related stains (dirt, urine, etc) are treatable.\r
My 1350 sqft house took about 40 minutes to treat. You get a run down with the receipt when they're finished - they suggest treating the carpet every 6 months. There wasn't really any sticker shock at the price, I was prepared - they give great estimates over the phone.\r
So is it too good to be true? It's very, very effective, but there are some cons:\r
1. a fine white dusting is left on your furniture (and everything else). It takes a few days for all that to settle.\r
2. while it's settling, my wife and I experienced coughing which we could only relate to the dust. The coughing lasted a couple days. Luckily the stuff is organic and harmless, right??\r
3. The residual powder sits in the carpet until you vaccuum it up. Pray you have a strong vacuum!\r
4. A couple stains did reappear, but just barely. \r

Do yourself a favor and buy a tub of the cleaner ($20) when they're done. And buy a strong bristle brush to work in the magic. I no longer fear the pet stains.\r
