Businiess name:  La Boxing

Review content:
LA Boxing is a fraud. I moved to NC recently and was looking for a new boxing gym to replace mine in Virginia. The only thing I found available was ""LA Boxing"". LA Boxing promised a true boxing gym with sparring sessions every night and personal one on one teaching from boxers. I was wined and dined into a 1 year contract. Big mistake. This place is a joke. LA Boxing isn't a boxing gym. Its a glorified women's fitness center. The sparring sessions I was promised? Yea, they only happen once a week during an ackward time. What about the one on one teaching? Oh thats $50 for 30 minutes. Worst of all. Within two months of starting my membership, I bought a new house 20 miles away from LA Boxing. In Raleigh/Durham Traffic, 20 miles can take upwards of an hour. So pretty much I couldn't go to the gym anymore. I politely talked to the manager at LA Boxing to see if we could work out a deal. They didn't want to. All they would repeat is ""You signed a contract"". Wouldn't work with me at all. I even offered to pay half my contract(I had 10 months left). Half my contract was $400. Thats a good chunk of change to NOT go to a gym. Nope. They wanted the full $800 of the contract and weren't budging. Their contract stated I would have to move 25 miles. I was 20 miles. They didn't care I couldn't come. They just wanted their money. I understand we all need money to get by. I understand they can't just let people get off their contracts for no reason, but when you move 20 miles away and have proof of actually buying a new house, I would think that would be enough resources to get out. Not in LA Boxing's opinion. They care nothing about people. They lied to get me into their piece of crap gym and now even when I can't use their crappy gym they still want my money. Have fun with the bad publicity! Pros: Good at traping you into contracts Cons: Not a real boxing gym. Glorified women's fitness center
