This is closer than going all the way out to jones beach.Plus Jones beach is always crowded. It's a New York City Beach.What do you really expect. The beach is free to get in . Parking is $5 .If you want a quick trip to the beach for tanning or just to cool down then just make sure you have water shoes. The sand is not the cleanest ... when you first walk on the sand its clean then there is a section where the sand mixed with blended seashells (OUCH!) , then it clears up a little after that . Not by much. The sand by the water has a lot of broken and pretty seashells. Again you get what you pay for . This beach is FREE! so what can you say . There is a Ice Cream Truck that stays on the board walk area. The showers work .COLD WATER ONLY!!! BrRRRRR
